Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani illegally withheld Emraan Hashmi starrer 'Mr X'?

While the Censor Board has been mired in controversies for the past few months, here's another severe blow to the CBFC. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has allegedly accused Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani of illegally withholding Emraan Hashmi's upcoming film- Mr X.

Calling Nihalani an 'anarchist', Ashoke Pandit slammed the CBFC Chief by exposing the reality in a series of tweets on Saturday.

Not just that, the filmmaker and social activist also claimed that Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt lost almost Rs 60 lacs for the 'unnecessary delay of their film'.

Previously, Pandit had criticised Nihalani's way of working while in a Facebook post, he had also exposed the rifts that exists within the panel. The Censor Board recently sparked protests after they issued a list of cuss words that they decided to ban from films. The Censor Board recently was again criticised for beeping the word 'lesbian' from YRF's Dum Laga Ke Haisha and for banning 'Unfreedom'- a film that dealt with homosexuality and religion.

Seems the trouble for the Censor Board and its Chief has no signs of an end any soon.
