Preview of Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Raja Natwarlal’

PREVIEW OF EMRAAN HASHMI’S ‘RAJA NATWARLAL’

The day when ‘Raja Natwarlal’ will hit the theaters a history will be created! What history? You may ask. Well, let me tell you, the director of the movie Kunal Deshmukh and the lead actor Emraan Hashmi are going to pair together for a movie, for the first time ever outside ‘the Bhatt Camp’. Yes Emraan Hashmi did a few movies outside the Bhatt Camp before with Ekta Kapoor but this will be the first such attempt by Kunal Deshmukh outside the ‘Vishesh Films’ for sure. All three previous movies directed by Kunal, ‘Jannat’, ‘Jannat 2’ and ‘Tum Miley’ had Emraan  Hashmi as a lead actor and may because of the tuning or the rapport he carries with the actor he has repeated him again even when he is going to venture outside the Vishesh Films. “Bahot yaarana lagta hai!!”

Nothing much has been revealed about the story but whatever we have with us it is a story about a small time crook who wants to take revenge with a big time gangster and for that he seeks help from his mentor. We can only imagine that this small time crook can be Emraan himself, the big time gangster can be K. K. Menon and the mentor’s role has been played by Paresh Rawal.

Previously the name of the movie was decided as ‘Shaatir’ and even Emraan Hashmi had admitted that he has signed a UTV movie named ‘Shaatir’. But then somehow people attached to the movie remembered Amitabh Bachchan’s 1979 hit ‘Mr. Natwarlal’ and changed the name of the movie as ‘Raja Natwarlal’. Smart guys, huh!

Abhishek Bachchan was proposed to do the role of mentor, but somehow he dropped himself from the movie after being almost ready to do the same and hence Paresh Rawal came into the picture.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Priyanka Chopra were the first two choices of Kunal Deshmukh as the lead actress, but then both the actresses had problems with the dates, the Pakistani model and actress Humaima Mallik was signed. One of the interesting parts in the casting is that after a long time we will be able to see the supporting actor from the 1990s Dipak Tijori in this movie. Kunal repeated Emraan with whom he worked for all of his 3 previous movies, but has not repeated Pritam Chakravarty who has done the same number of movies like Emraan with Kunal! Yuvan Shankar Raja who is one of the most popular music directors of the Tamil movies is the music director of the movie.

Had the shoot of another Emraan Hashmi film ‘Badtameez Dil’ not cancelled this movie would have come to us bit later. The shoot for this movie was preponed to October 2013 and see the movie is now ready to get released. The signature ‘Emraan Hashmi Scenes’ are also there as per the ‘internal sources’…muaah! So be ready for one more Emraan Hashmi kissing scene sequence in this movie too.

Emraan Hashmi has been working very hard to promote this movie and he has even said that this is going to be real him in an interview. Well, we are yet to know what is the ‘unreal Emraan Hashmi’ all about! As a part of the promotion strategy Emraan Hashmi was even slapped by a reality show contestant when he was promoting the movie there. So these are part of movie planning and strategy these days just before the movie gets released. But the bottom line is will the Emraan Hashmi-Kunal Deshmukh magic work for the fourth time? Let’s see…..
