BOX OFFICE PREDICTION: THE MASSY FEEL OF RAJA NATWARLAL WILL ENSURE A BETTER START

After a year, an Emraan Hashmi’s film is up for release and it is in the ‘zone’ that he is loved most. Though in his last couple of films (Ek Thi Daayan, Ghanchakkar) he had taken an experimental route, they had still managed a decent opening at least even if they hadn’t covered the distance. In comparison, the massy feel of Raja Natwarlal should ensure a better start.

The director here is Kunal Deshmukh who has enjoyed a good association with Emraan on Jannat series. By the look of things, Raja Natwarlal appears to be a well made film too which is substantiated by content in the offering. That should ensure that after a decent start of 40%-50% (with single screens taking the lead), Raja Natwarlal finds its footing based on word of mouth.

The film benefits from the fact that it is the sole notable release of the week. Another movie that arrives this week is Identity Card which is an issue based ensemble affair with Tia Bajpai as the central protagonist. Though the film has travelled internationally, in India it is releasing without any substantial promotion. It would be entirely dependent of critical appreciation that may come its way.
