Check out: Hashmi goes bald and invisible for Mr X.

Move over Mr India and Gaayab, Indian cinema is ready to tell the tale of an invisible man again, only this time, it's a cop.

Emraan Hashmi has gone for an extreme makeover in his next Mr X. Fans of his mane would be in for a disappointment as he appears bald in the movie's still, released by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

"Mr X is about a cop, (played by Emraan Hashmi) who locks horns with the system against the injustice in society. The still is taken a moment before Emraan goes invisible."

Emraan would be paired opposite Amyra Dastur who made her Bollywood debut with Issaq, opposite Prateik Babbar.

"It's a big budget commercial film, which is basically a love story. Emraan would do everything that's expected of him in mainstream cinema."

The still from the movie suggests that Emraan has shaved off his head in the film. Is that true?

Bald and deadly: Emraan Hashmi in a still from Vikram Bhatt's Mr X.
"How can you imagine that a mainstream hero will go bald? No, way. It's just a moment from the film."

Interestingly, Mahesh Bhatt's father Nanabhai Bhatt directed the movie of the same name in 1957, which was about an invisible killer Mr X.

History does repeat itself!
