Noone's ready to star opposite Emraan Hashmi in Azharuddin biopic?

Emraan Hashmi’s next, which is a biopic on former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, has been in the news for a while. While the actor has been training extensively to get the nuances of the sport right, apparently he doesn’t have a co-star yet.

The film’s script requires two female characters, one of which will be reprised by Prachi Desai. But an industry source informs us that none of the A-listers in Bollywood are ready to be paired opposite Emraan, and play the second lead character in the film.

"The makers of the biopic are still struggling to lock the cast. The film has two female lead characters, and Prachi will play one of them. They are unable to get a second actress on board," says the source, adding, "While the plot is interesting, no actress wants to star opposite Emraan as his last few releases have not fared well at the box office."

We tried to reach director Anthony D’Souza for a comment, but he remained unavailable.
