Fight corruption with the Ungli gang.

Don't keep calm, raise the ungli' — that's the motto of the Ungli gang as they wage a war against the corrupt and the procrastinators. Karan Johar's Ungli mirrors the angst of young India and their desperation for change.

Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam and Angad Bedi play five friends who form a gang to fight the powers that be, in their own amusing way. The Rensil D'Silva directed-film also features Sanjay Dutt and Neha Dhupia.

While the vigilantes take on the system on screen, even in real life, the star cast has a strong opinion on the changes they would like to see in society. Emraan is disturbed by the poor state of public transport and the way civic rules are flouted. He urges citizens to take matters like road safety and cleanliness seriously.

Similarly, Randeep is disappointed with the sluggish education system of India. Stating that the youth of India has great potential to bring about a change, the actor emphasises that they deserve superior education training.

Angad, too, pins his hopes on the youth of the country — he wants them to play an active role in politics. He believes that only young leaders can understand and resolve the problems of the youth.

Meanwhile, Neil aspires to see growth at the basic level. Not only does he want illiteracy to be eradicated from the country, but also hopes for more socially conscious citizens so that the nation prospers at the ground level.
Ungli, produced by Dharma Productions, releases today.
