Bollywood opening: 'Ungli' in Tampa

When life gives you a corrupt government, form a gang with your buddies and give corruption the finger.

Yes, that's really the plot of this week's Bollywood release, Ungli (literally Finger). Five friends (Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhooplam, Angad Bedi) start talking about India's corruption (a legitimate problem), form the Ungli Gang and come up with a solution that is, of course, totally legitimate: Kidnap bureaucrats and the like and embarrass them. You know, tie up rude autorickshaw drivers and send them, along with their cabs, halfway across the country on trains and force bribe-taking cops to literally eat cash. (I can think of better things to do with money, personally.) Top it all off with some smart-mouthing and middle-finger raising. Voila! Corruption solved.

Naturally, the government is none too pleased, and sends in Assistant Commissioner of Police Kale, played by Sanjay Dutt, an actor ironically now serving time on a felony weapons conviction.

Ungli opens today at AMC Veterans 24 in Tampa.
