Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi to lock horns at the box office?

Just a few days back, we reported how Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif are all set to clash at the box office come October. PeeCee’s Mary Kom biopic will release alongside Kat’s Phantom which also stars Saif Ali Khan in the lead. We also told you Karan Johar’s intense love story Shuddhi and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-talked about film Bajirao Mastani will hit the theatres next year during Christmas. And now we hear Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi will also compete at the box office in 2015. Khiladi Kumar’s Gabbar co-starring Shruti Haasan and Hashmi’s Mr X will release on January 23 next year. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted today, “So it will be Akshay Kumar [Gabbar] versus Emraan Hashmi [Mr X] on 23 January 2015.”

We aren’t surprised that the makers of Gabbar and Mr X have locked the same release date. After all, it’s a long Republic Day weekend. While both Akshay and Emraan are supremely talented, will have to wait and see which actor races ahead in the numbers game.
