Emraan Hashmi is set to reprise former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin on the big screen is known to all. In fact, the B-town hunk has been preparing for the role for a long time now. While Hashmi has been part of this venture since the very beginning, we hear Nargis Fakhri is now on board as well. The makers of the biopic have signed her to play Azaruddin’s second wife Sangeeta Bijlani in the film. Earlier, rumours were rife that Kareena Kapoor Khan was approached for the role however it seems things didn’t work out.
Though there has been no official announcement regarding Ms Fakhri’s inclusion in the cast, a source told a leading tabloid, “The producers have already had a meeting with Nargis and the modalities are being worked out. As she is slated to travel for the promotions of her Hollywood film Spy, things will be finalised only on her return.”
Since the Rockstar actress started her career as a model just like Sangeeta did, the makers of the Azharuddin biopic felt she would fit the bill perfectly. And thus the idea of casting Nargis in the film.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, this Emraan Hashmi starrer also has Prachi Desai in a pivotal role. The Bol Bachchan heroine will be seen playing Azharuddin’s first wife Naureen.
