Mahesh Bhatt to croon for Emraan Hashmi's 'Mr X'

Mahesh Bhatt loves new challenges. It has been the curve of his life and career. Recently a leading daily revealed that the producer-director will make his debut as a singer in the Emraan Hashmi's upcoming 3-D thriller 'Mr X'. He will be singing a song titled 'You Can Call Me X'.

The song is said to be so catchy that the makers are even planning to shoot a music video with Emraan and Amrya Dastur.

Mahesh Bhatt further confirms, "Music is an inseparable part of me. And every time before we record a song first, I sing it. I was doing the same for Mr. X when Jeet's eyes shone up like a child who had found a rare gift. He said, you are going to do it. I didn't see a reason, why not! Perhaps the song was made for me."

Director Vikram adds, "We were in a music sitting when Jeet Ganguli made us hear this song for the first time. There was me, there was Bhatt Saab, Mukeshji and of course we liked the song, and what happened is that Jeet said that itna female voice hoga and then you can call me X will be in a male voice so Bhatt saab said give me the paper let me sing the male voice so when he sang it, it just sounded right and then who ever sang it after that didn’t sound right enough so we told Bhatt sir you should."

In the film 'Mr X', Emraan Hashmi plays the role of a good cop who is forced to become a vigilante after there is an attempt to murder him. He get entangled in a treacherous scheme and is left to die in a chemical factory by people who blow it up with the intention to kill him. However, as fate would have it, the chemicals in the factory do not kill him but instead cause a reaction that turns him invisible! He then sets out to seek revenge from all those who are not only responsible for his state but are also hatching a devious, evil plan.

Starring the gorgeous Amyra Dastur, the film has everything that an Emraan Hashmi blockbuster would have - great songs, a sizzling new pairing and not to forget the serial kisser is doing what he does best and that too when invisible!

Produced by Vishesh Films and presented by Fox Star Studios,'Mr X' releases in 2D and 3D on April 17th.
