Emraan Hashmi's 'Mr. X' satellite rights sold for Rs 25 crore

In the last few years, the battle for satellite rights of films has been consistently hotting up with television channels liberally loosening their purse strings.

Now we hear the television premiere deal for the Emraan Hashmi-starrer 'Mr. X' has been inked for around Rs 25 crore.
A source says, "The channel has signed an agreement with the production house just before the film's release. Most of Emraan's films have adult content and many scenes had to be chopped off. So, the makers never really got a big amount for the satellite viewing."

Mr X has got a 'U' certificate even though it has some intimate scenes between Emraan and his leading lady, Amyra Dastur. "After a couple of meetings between the channel and the production house, we were surprised to know that the former has agreed to pay such a hefty amount for an Emraan Hashmi film," states a source close to the production team.
Mukesh Bhatt, producer of the film, confirms the story and says, "Yes, this is the first time that we have got a huge amount for Emraan's film. It is a family entertainer. So we really did not have to make any cuts for television viewing."
Meanwhile, there is buzz that an item number featuring Nora fatehi was chopped from the film for the 'U' certificate. The song apparently had a lot of skin show and has been blocked online. Only the audio is said to be available. Bhatt, however, denies the rumour, saying: "The song will be part of the film and doesn't involve any skin show."
