Emraan Hashmi to sport three looks for Azharuddin biopic.

Playing the lead role in a biopic is challenging, as Emraan Hashmi will soon find out when he has to prepare for three looks to show different phases of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s life in a film.

A source close to the project says, "Though the biopic on Azharuddin was supposed to commence in mid-2014, Kunal (director) Deshmukh and Emraan Hashmi are currently working on another project together. And they both want to take a break before they start shooting the biopic. So, the schedule is now locked for January 2015. Emraan will be working with the team to finalise the three looks for the film before that."

There has been speculation about which phase of the 51-year-old cricketer’s life the film would focus on. Now there’s some clarity on that front too.

"The film will encompass Azhar’s entire life, from when he was 17 to his ascent as the captain of the Indian cricket team, and even the controversies associated with him in the later years. So, Emraan will have to look like a 17-year-old as well as a 51-year-old during the course of the film," reveals the source.

Apparently, producer Ekta Kapoor signed a contract with the former cricketer for a handsome amount to acquire the rights to the biopic. She remained unavailable for comment.
