Emraan Hashmi is against smoking and does it in movies only if it's necessary. Emraan says, "I started smoking during my first film Footpath as I learnt how to smoke because I had a couple of smoking scenes in the film.
I have never been a compulsive smoker, as I'm not an addictive personality. I don't smoke at all! But I gave up smoking sometime back. I just wanted to quit, there was no specific reason." However, the actor says, if really required for a film or character he would smoke like in The Dirty Picture. Maybe Emraan should give his Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai co-star Ajay Devgn (a regular smoker) some serious tips on how to quit smoking!
